A great start to preventing any injury, no matter your age or gender, is to figure out the current level of your fitness and all health and injury related issues (see also: Services > Fitness Assessment). This is important because it is imperative that the correct exercises and stretches are chosen that fits your needs. This ensures any area of concern is given the proper attention it needs. Once your body has been assessed, we can begin the process of injury prevention by strengthening your joints, correcting muscle imbalances and improving posture.
Note to young athletes:
Young bodies are constantly going through growth cycles. As Personal Trainers, it is of the utmost importance that we pay attention to flexibility and how each young persons body responds to exercise. During a growth spurt, muscles can become extremely tight which can lead to acute muscle injuries and postural imbalances. To avoid these injuries and imbalances we must make stability and flexibility training a priority.
